I am 30 years old. I’ve been weight lifting for approximately 3 years. Prior to that, I played competitive soccer for 11 years.

I also undertook karate lessons, training under Sensei Kurt Nordli, a 4th degree (Yondan) black belt through Shima Karate, based of Nanaimo, BC. Karate taught me many important lessons – self-discipline, respect, honour and an earnestness to learn.

I broke/fractured/dislocated my right arm as a child (yes all 3 at the same time). I also needed 3 nails to pin my arm back together, YIKES! It no longer straightens out perfectly, which has been something I’ve had to get used to.

I used to be a runner, but shin splints have put a serious damper on that. I cannot, for the life of me, seem to overcome them!

I fell off a 50 ft bridge when I was 20 years old and compressed several discs between my vertebrae. Weight lifting has been the only thing that has brought any pain relief.

I tore both rotator cuffs while rock climbing – oh how I miss climbing, seriously!

Early 2017 I suffered a concussion while at work – that has set me back quite a bit. Something I still suffer with to this day.

I hope to one day compete in a power lifting competition, just for me! I’m not looking to set any records, but I’ve discovered the power lifting community is amazing and extremely helpful.

My current personal bests:

Bench:    310 lb

Squat:     460 lb

Deadlift:  515 lb

I seek to inspire and help others. If I can be of any inspiration or assistance to you, then I’ve already completed that goal! If there is anything I can do for you, send me a message!
